What Happens If I Move House With My Passport?
So I'm finally moving to my dream house after years of searching, renovation and decorating. It has been a long slog but the day is finally upon me. Now I have made special arrangements to make sure the passport doesn't get lost in the move. It's in a sealed box marked holiday. I'm determined to go on my holiday after all this hard work. What I wasn't sure of is when I moved would I need to inform anyone of a passport change of address or not? Everywhere I asked I was getting conflicting information, some people were saying 'yes, definately' others were saying 'I don't think so'. In the end I thought I need to talk to an expert so I had a chat with the travel agent, I couldn't believe it when the travel agent told me they didn't know either! So, what did you do next? I hear you cry, well I called the people who make them and they told me (drum roll please) 'no you do not need to let us know if you change address, just make sure the emergency contact details are updated in the back of your passport.' So after all that, there was absolutely nothing to worry about.
